Gonna go to work again after college. And then again Saturday and Sunday.

The shop finally opened yesturday, an hour late admittidly, but its open. Too many 12 hour ish days this week - glad I got a bit of a lie in this morning cos I was doing college (poor full timers all in, except they got a day off during the fitter).

The shop rocks though. The peeps from down south (and all over) rocked and you guys will be missed - cheers for helping out. (ayeeee)

Now everyone, you must come to Freespirit in the Triangle - but on a week day, cos its dead then and we need the company!

Been mainly working all day every day for the past few days getting the shop ready for its opening on thursday.

Or wednesday but perhaps thursday. Either way.

Tis gonna be quite a nice looking shop when its done. Currently the front of it looks like a building site as the main entrance isnt yet done kinda. Mind you, didnt stop one pluky customer coming in asking if we where open after ducking down under the roller shutter door which was about 2 feet off the ground.

Eager some people arent they?

Would seem the Filmworks has changed its website. Its no longer the ott flash site it was. Its now just a ott java, flash, css and regular html mess.

Tis fairly easy to use though. Somehow you still gotta wait as long as you used to with the all flash one before you get your info though - which is a shame.

No more, its about time I inflict the 1312 sillyness on the people at work too. Hence the current 1312 picture (picture archive now available here)

We move into our new store tommorow, start the fitting the stock into place ready for our opening soon (could be any time, I'm but a lowly 5hr contract part timer, I get told nothing and so, nothing).

Also rather guttingly my piercings are gonna have to get hidden, or at least I make an effort to make them less obvious untill I have had good time to fight the Outdoor group Managers decision via my area manager. From what I hear its because he personally doesnt like piercings - despite the culture his Freespirit shops aim at, and claim to be, has a very high proportion of pierced people within it. Clearly this doesnt appear to be an objective decision - but still hes the boss of all bosses so I will have to play the game.

It has been suggested to me that this could be discrimination. Which I find funny, what with me being that lowly 5 hour a week part timer. Though its true, my piercings dont stop me serving customers, doing my work nor do they make me less approachable to our target audience. If anything, most people that come in are curious and not at all put off.

Mind you, I didnt get the done so that everyone would like them. haha

The main problem I'm now having with my new arm piercing is that it leaks quite a lot.

I mean this is good for healing, as it means its able to drain and so not swell massivily like last time - I had a bar thats way too long rammed in y'see.

The amount of leaking isnt like dripping down my arm or out - but it is enough to gather quick thickly around the ball and bar say in a morning when I wake up from a nights sleep.

Something else to note about the shite that leaks out is that its not water soluable - it doesnt break down or into a liquid in water.

Being male I also have hairy arms.

Causing problems when I'm trying to get the lymph off my arm cos it ends up tearing and ripping arm hairs out in a most painful mannor. Argh!

Big ups to the Chester Freespirit staff for making my day at work better and quite hilarious yesturday.

I'm curious (what with being all pierced and silly - wait no - as in wondering something)

I probably already posted I recently re-watched Bowling For Columbine (if I didnt post that, I recently watched Bowling For Columbine since getting it on dvd).

In it Michael Moore tells us he won some NRA shooting title as a kid - as he was from gun toting Michigan.

Now we all know Texas is a gun toting state. Alabama has the good ole boys - presumibly also gun tauting. In Montana its legal to fire a gun from a moving vehicle (as long as its not aimed at anyone). It would be easy to presume Alaska is gun toting - as it would claim the hunting traditions as Canada does (probably).

Sure thats just 5 out of 50 but are there any states that arent gun tauting?

After sitting and talking to my cat (the mental Freddy who is brain damaged) and wondering just what it was thinking as it sits looking back at me purring with a scared shitless look on its face, the question comes up; Why do cats purr?

I was just trying to talk MMN* through networking his machine with his housemates and sharing his ADSL connection over msn.

Now sober would of been better to ask perhaps, but he was on away.

Part of this process involved downloading Proxy Plus from downloads.com because I knew that before I had win xp I had that program running to provide my iBook with net access at home using my broadband connection.

Since installing win xp I never got my laptop to see the net via my pc and have been too lazy to download proxy plus - I didnt need net access on my mac at home that bad.

As it wasnt running so simply I decided to download proxy plus and run through the installation so I could see what MMN* had seen running his, to try and help him out.

Bingo - net access on my mac.

So then as a test a closed the proxy program on my pc.

Shit - still got net access on my mac.

I've just deleted the programs folder and still got net access on my mac. And i've wiped the net settings on my mac hopeing that the automatic settings it previously found it just kinda used again. But it still found net access.

Shit. Dilemma. Has my mac been working on the net for ages automatically cos the last time i purposfully checked was months ago. Or has public proxy starting running some background process I cant find. Erm... (sorry MMN* if I've fucked your machine - good news is, I will have fucked mine too though)

Speaking of piercing, I got my arm pierced again. Caz rammed a needle through my arm after wowing me with the needle and how it works.

Its more clever than you'd think.

Pub quiz last night. We didnt do too bad, well at least we didnt come last.

Pub sells draft Pepsi and no bottles of.

Surly someone else out there knows the heartburn pain associated with the propellent they put in the syrup of draft cola in pubs, bars and resteraunts.

I had 2 pints of Pepsi last night and I think both where at that all important beginning or end of a barrel. So I didnt get very much sleep last night. I watched 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and daylight roll by before falling asleep at 7:30 ish waking up an hour later.

Then surly someone out there knows the pain and illness you get when you needed a full nights sleep, but you only had an hour and you get up. You know, that bit where your body basically says "fuck off still asleep" yet you force it into action.

Had lots of time to think. As usual it was mainly rubbish I though. For example:

You know that film, Unbreakable? Where Samuel L Jackson has brittle bones and causes major accident things to find Brucie Baby Willis who never gets ill or broken bones or whatever. Well, the films storey was that Jackson had a theory that comics and superheroes where based on true-ish myth things in which people had super, or over average abilities and comics where the format to keep the common knowledge of this alive seen as we dont all sit around fires and scrawling on walls (past the age of 4 or so).

Well at around 3:30 this morning I had ear ache. That loud screeching noise. It lasted all of 10 seconds then it went. (now making a major presumption, so no one spoil this). I've seen people have ear ache for ages and it really do their nut in. Yet for me it has never lasted more than 10 seconds.

Is there an opposite of me out there who has heartburn for 10 seconds but gets major ear ache now and then?

(NB: ear ache the loud screeching noise in an ear, not ear ache as caused after a verbal bashing by yours truely)

Hare of the dog? Though this is an alcohol drinkers excuse to drink some more - it would seem its also applicable to other things.

On the way home I had Machineheads (Through the Ashes of Empires) new album on fairly loud. Gave myself a headache. So logically I should just of turned it down or off. But no, I left it on as loud as my stereo would go before distorting.

What happened? Well my headache went. Largly I think to track 7 "Vim" which pounded so hard and quick that it caused a refreshing cold breeze to circulate in my car - clearing my head (a clear good effect of having the bigger speakers in my doors facing up towards the front passengers)

Do I like this new album? Yeah. Its heavy, crunchy, uses lots and lots and lots of double bass drum and it rocks. To me its good Machinehead with bits of Stuck Mojo, Godsmack, Metallica and old Machinehead in. It actually goes someway to making up for the piece of shit Supercharger was.

Just got kicked and banned from UK2.nets de_aztec for beginners counterstrike server for getting 13 frags without being fragged once myself.

Haha. Picking on the n00bs was fun though!

Well end of day 1 at my new job.

First days are always a bit odd - not quite sure what your supposed to be doing or who anyone is.

Made more funny by the fact that that Freespirit had its full compliment of staff and nearly a full compliment of trainess for their new store. Hence we out-numbered the customers by about 10 to 1 for much of the day.

Distraction, as its called, is a game show where answering questions rightly or ringing your buzzer to do so, causes pain in some way. Electrocution, paintballers, pigeon shit come to mind.

But this week correctly answering questions in the round before winning the brand new car resulted in being pierced. The winner ended up with 4 piercings he didnt want, 3 in his ears and his nipple.

Could of had 3 more piercings and a new car. Bah! ("audience what do you think, another in his ear?" - "no, pierce my freakin arm again - not my ear!" haha)

A late big ups to Sober for buying the rockets for our hike up a local big hill to watch fireworks go off accross the valleys and city.

And dude, arent you all mature and grown up? All I could see to do was do silly childish things like roping rockets together, pointing them into the ground and throwing them whilst lit.

And people wonder why kids loose arms, eyes etc from playing with fireworks..

Afternoon of college work today.

Didnt get one of things I wanted to do done, thats tommorow mornings fun now.

But did get a couple of things underway - including putting all my deadlines and important college dates into iCal on my mac.

Which clearly meant reading all my college breifs and what not.

So currently feeling all worried and wondering quite how the fuck any of its going to happen.

Design Management, as we call it, our design industry/business studies module needs 2 projects which are small at 3000 words each but the first could easily be miles bigger and as its a Design Audit needs to be well researched. Some bits of this I know what I'm doing, others theres a big grey area of confusion which I think my class shares. (its been explained to us, I dont think we get it yet cos we're not actually doing it yet like).

Design Thinking, my theory and concept of design lectures requires a research project which I actually think I know what I'm doing with it and how I'm going to do it. Will defo be calling on my Honerable Uncles for help with some bits mind.

And my computing module. What the fuck is that all about? "God knows" as my peer and fellow Team Big Balls member replies in a text message.

DM should just be one project, DT needs to just run to plan and IT needs to explain itself.

So currently your majestic 13 twelve is sitting here thinking, "oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck" but I am quite looking forward to starting work at Freespirit.

Another attempt at fixing my css rolls out v2.22 which is now compatible with pretty much everything I think (at least it works on IE6 win XP, IE5.2 mac and Safari). Its not a totally unelegant method either.

The black box to sit the links in and what not still aint compat with IE6 on win XP as it doesnt sit the text in the middle of the box despite knowing it wants to draw the same amount of box above and below the text - my mac knows what I mean...
